The rocket has been primed in red, once dry 2 coats of off white were laid down in the arias where the camouflage is needed.

The Hannomag was also primed in the same red primer. I needed three coats of the Ammo yellow which will be the base colour for the truck

I ised smal blobs of panzer putty to mask the dials of the dash board.

My next focus was the launch stand. this was primed in red as the rest of the kit is. This time O have gone for a late war German green, not seen as often as the dark green used during most of the war this is a much mailer softer olive green. I have used Meng paint for this colour.

everything was then given a black wash to ad some depth and bring out the detail, it also gives a bit of a used feel to the paintwork.

The launch frame comes under intense heat when the V2 launches, never having done burn paint effects before this was a new challenge Cool
I started by painting the blast deflector Valleio burnt steel. I then used Tamiya black panel line wash for the wheel flaps. Tamiya weathering powders where then used to add the effect of different temperatures and rust where paint has been striped away by the heat.

I then used a propelling pencil to add paint scratches and worn paint areas such as jack Handels and tread plates.

This completes this part of the kit and has been placed on the display stand prior to final positioning

The Hanomag painting continues with the cabin inter. the roof and the window frame are all natural wood, I used Humbrol leather with a brown wash as a colour match. the bulb in the centre of the roof was painted chrome. the clear plastic part that covers it was painted wood effect before attaching.

Some chipping was done with grey paint and a pencil after giving all the detail a brown wash. the door interims were given a heavy brown wash to look a bit water stained and grubby from use.

the leather seats were painted red brown, given a chocolate brown wash and then a black wash.

the staring wheel and gear shift were both painted matt black, the dashboard was weathered as per the rest of the inter before being fitte. the string wheel attached last, also after some weathering

once happy with this, the glazing was done and then the roof could go on, once again fit is an issue I had to hold it in place while the CA worked its magic.

The doors were then tacky wax fitted closed to allow the camouflage airbrushing to be done. then all the glazing was painted in with Maskol,

Note n Maskol, I have tried several brands over the years still think Humbrols is the best, and its cheaper from the Airfix shop than ebay.

next comes the comouflage painting Drool the doors could then be removed and glued back in place as I wanted them. one piece of glazing was removed to show a window down.

Thats it for now, more soon

The V2 rocket has now been given its base paint. the white was masked off first then the dark yellow went down, was masked off and the dark green was laid down. I used the more regular dark green for the V2 as I am trying to highlight that the various parts of this were manufactured at different times at different places and as the war entered its final months not only were paints officially changed but increasingly any paint to hand was used.

The V2 Continues with painting the exhaust and flaps in a mix of burnt steel and titanium. The whole thing was then given a wash using Tamiya grey panel accent. I used a flat brush to not just hi light all the weld spot detail and seams but to add some streak grime.

The whole thing was then given a gloss cote ready for the decals. The aftermarket decal as fantastic and really bring this to life.

With the decals in place the whole rocket was given a matt coat which completes the rocket part of the build
