And now for something completely differentBigGrin. Im a big jaws fan as you can see from my avatar and you may also have seen my Orca model boat, but this is something I tried a few months back.
It it the final shark scene in the 1st Jaws movie, the shark is made of air dry clay and the water is layered polymer resin with pigment.
Cheers

WOW!! Love Drool Love Cool ThumpUp

That is the coolest scratchbuilt diorama I've seen in ages and the water effect is super stunning - I love it!!

Well done Steve on a great creation and thanks for showing it. CoolThumpUp

P.S. - How about a tutorial on how you created the water effect? I believe there is a £100 reward from ModelSpace if you submit it to the article section, so it would definitely be worth doing?

Hello Steve, I'd be interested to know how you got the white water to look like it does, it's perfect, not over done, just right and if you've painted the white bits of the resin then you've done a stunning job mate - love it!!

I haven't submitted any articles myself, though I am toying with one or two when I can find the time, but I believe you just write the article in an email format and attach any photos by using the link below:

http://forum.model-space...aspx?g=posts&t=2362

I'm sure Tom will be able to help you further if you have any more queries as will some of the members who have the 'green medal' for writing an article? Hope that helps mate?

The articles that get accepted can be found in the ModelSpace 'Blog' here:

http://modelspaceblog.com/blog/

Give it a go mate, it could pay for your next model!!

Loved your Gun Tractor build as well by the way - top job!! CoolThumpUp

Kev, thanks for that, might give it go right away then seeing as i don't have have to wait for new pics of my next build (pics being optional). Id really never thought of doing an article but why not!

The white water btw is a secret.....not really - There are a few ways to do it, one of them being paint but as you said this is difficult to get right. The other ways are mashing the resin into a "foam" with a stiff brush at a crucial stage in the drying, i have used this before to good effect, or as was done in this case use white silicon sealer and a small stiff brush.
More to come in the articleBigGrin

Go for it Steve, I'll look forward to reading the article if it's accepted. You might find it stands a better chance of being accepted if it DOES have photos to accompany the text by the way? Just a thought, but as you say, they aren't compulsory?

Thanks for the tips on the foam! CoolThumpUp
