When I say I am a complete novice to wooden ship building that's not strictly true. I have just dug this out of the cupboard after 20 years, 2 house moves and completely untouched since then. Bearing in mind what I have learned making the Victory so far, it wasn't as bad as I thought but I realise now especially after looking at the scant plans and instructions, I would have had a few problem finishing it off.

I do remember I enjoyed doing it so I am looking forward to picking up where I left of. BTW that's a tin of sanding sealer in there, wonder if it's OK.

Looks like I now have an in-between build not that I need it, I am way behind at the moment.

Hi Karl

The clue is in the deck if you look closely. The hull was made in 2 halves. Half ribs were secured to a base and then that side was fully planked before starting on the other side. When complete the 2 halves were glued together. Needless to say mine did not fit together neatly so there was a bit of pushing and shoving required.

Hi John, welcome back and look forward to seeing how you progress with her. She has survived well for 20+ years in storage.
Happy building

Hi David and thanks.

Haven't really been away, just busy on the Victory. Now that I have broken the back of it I may have some time to play with this now.
