Hi,

Well this collection has had a turbulent time in our house hold Blushing , originally I started it up for my hubby but it turns out that he was only joking when he asked me to arrange it for him but by that time the first delivery of issues 1-7 had arrived, so the sub was cancelled.

A bit later on I was having a "ebay clear out" and as I was posting ads my eldest son Andrew saw the mags on the table and began to show an interest in them, after awhile he asked if he could have them, although I had already offered them to him some weeks earlier - but hey that's teenagers for you BigGrin

So he set about working though the first 7 issues and as he seemed quite involved with it so I set up the sub again for him. The next 4 issues (8-11) duly arrived and he worked though them with little help from his mum and a lot of help from Steve (Stevegbr) who very kindly help us out with a problem with the screws,

http://forum.model-space...spx?g=posts&t=20762

But by the time the next delivery arrived (12-15) the novelty had worn of, as it tends to do with 14 year olds! and the build found a place on his bedroom floor with everything else so the sub was cancelled yet again.

Having been threaten with the standard "you'll be grounded for two weeks" speech he eventually tided up his room and I found the collection in the bin!! So I rescued it and began to have a go my self working through issues 13, 14 and 15, by the time I had done that I had found yet another project to do!!!

So there we are, I'm playing catch up a bit as I believe that issue 28 was released this week. I am going to order extra copies each month until I'm on level par with the collection. I've ordered and received the next 8 issues (16-23) they only took 4 days to arrived so you can't grumble at that can you BigGrin and today I worked through issues 16, 17, 18 and 19.

Issue 16

Oil Pump
Lower Pan
Axle Mounts
Transmission Case

None of the problems from previous issues regarding the screws fitting into place, with this issue everything went together really nicely

Hi,

Issue 17

Sump Pan
Starter
Engine Assembly

There was an error in the magazine which notes to use DP screws but as it turns out this should be the DM screws supplied with this issue. Apart from that everything went together well.

Hi,

Issue 18

Filters
Manifolds
Engine Assembly

The two filters were a pain to fit, the screws just didn't want to grip into them but a few rude words later and they saw my side of the argument BigGrin

Hi,

Issue 19

Water Pump
Hoses and Pipes
Auxiliary Air Pipe

I've read and watched via youtube some horror stories surrounding this issue, but happily none of those raised problems effected me, all was well....BigGrin

Hi Al,

Sadly it's now three as I have cancelled the R2-D2 collection for various reasons which I won't moan about here.... but on the up side that does leave me with the spare funds for another sub BigGrin but which one?

Hi Steve,

TBH I never liked either the films or the DeLorean as a car but the more I worked on it the more attached I got.....now that's something I never thought I'd say 6 months ago BigGrin

As for what's next well the Thunderbird 2 it top of the list but I'm hoping that they do it with the 24 month option as the £75 12 month option will be too pricey for me with all the other subs I have on the go at the moment, so we'll see what happens

Hi Jase,

He has a habit of doing things like that which is why I always check the bin bags he brings down after doing his room, I spent more time shifting through the bin bags looking for parts then I did working on the build yesterday !!

Hi,

Thank you Ian, I've gone through issue 20 today and even I can appreciate the hype that surrounds the quality of the engine and I know nothing about them, it's looking really good
