I just thought I'd post a few pics of some Star Wars dio's I made up about 30 years ago. The vehicles etc were model kits and a toy Walker. The setups were built with the aim of taking photo's so size didn't matter. They were broken down afterwards. Ground cover was real moss and dirt, trees were plasticine wrapped around card tubes. The forest lighting and shadows was done by shining bright lights through paper with slots and holes cut in it. The planet pic was a large painting with the ship suspended in front. The pics ended up in a photography magazine with an article about DIY special FX. It was great fun at the time. Bear in mind I didn't have a decent camera back then, and it was real old-school film and prints, hence the rather naff quality. Roy. roymattblack attached the following image(s):

Nice pics, how did you get the speeder bike lighting on the pics, was this added later by more digital means? Steve

Thanks chaps.
The speeder bike lighting was good old fashioned airbrush direct onto the printed photo. The jets on the model were covered in silver foil and a light shone directly into it to get a complete glow. The coloured light streaks were made using a rainbow filter on the camera lens at the time.
