Arriving early 2019...

The GAZ M-20 Pobeda (Victory) became a symbol of postwar Soviet life.

In 1946, the Pobeda was the first Soviet automobile to have turn signals, two electric windshield wipers, four-wheel hydraulic brakes, an electric heater, and a factory-installed AM radio.
Many Pobeda cars were used by government organizations, including the state-owned taxicab parks (there were no private taxis in the Soviet Union). The car’s price was twice the average annual wage of 800 rubles, yet there were long queues to buy it. In 1954-55, demand exceeded production, and the Pobeda had the first chance for the Soviet automobile industry to export and compete with Western manufacturers.
Pobeda’s total production was 235,999 units, including 37,492 taxis and 14,222 cabriolets. In 1958, the car was replaced by the GAZ M21 Volga. Today, Pobeda is a valuable collector’s item.

The GAZ M-20 Pobeda model

1:8 scale

Dimensions: Length 582mm; Width 212mm; Height 203mm.

Operable front/rear lighting & operable brake lights; Opening doors, boot & bonnet; Authentic GAZ engine; Operable windows and side vents; Authentic interior & Operable steering.

The Pobeda model is so detailed that you also get a miniature tool kit full of Pobeda tools - There are wrenches and hammers, even a jack!

The side windows roll up and down; All 4 vent windows open and close; All 4 doors have door latches.

The headlights, corner lights, tail lights and brake lights all work and are powered by 3x AAA batteries stored inside a fuel tank which looks very discrete. The lights are activated using a switch on the dashboard and brake lights are activated via the brake pedal. The floor is covered by a rubber mat like the real car.

The roof aerial swings left and extends up and down. There is an air scoop vent on the body which can be opened and closed via a lever under the dash. The fuel flap opens to reveal the fuel cap.

The chassis is as detailed as the rest of the car, the suspension features real leaf springs in the rear and coils in the front, and the underside there is brake cables and fuel lines.

Clear, step-by-step English instructions (via download), accompanied by detailed photos to make building your "GAZ M-20 Pobeda" model, as easy as possible.

That actually looks really interesting.
It's so different from the usual car kits. Looks very detailed too.

The GAZ Volga M21 (which came after the GAZ M20 Pobeda) also has a similar spec https://forum.model-spac...spx?g=posts&t=28828

A 100% original GAZ M20 Pobeda from 1957! Guess you could call it a 'barn find'.
It runs and drives and even the radio works Laugh, just needs a bit of TLC.
Not cheap, and you would have to import from Lithuania, but hey, you can't have everything BigGrin

OR you could just wait for the MS kit, due soon Drool
