Hi Guys
A Hachette partworks model of the Titanic has appeared on our local ebay type website. i initially saw this last year and it was listed at $700 and then the listing expired. i have just seen it re listed at $100 no reserve which is a hell of a bargain considering the 100 parts have a retail at $13 each.
even at that super bargain price im a bit loathe to get it as im finding it hard to do the two ships that i have currently. plus the obvious lack of space in the house to display it when complete.possibly just get it and keep it for future build maybe
anyway my question is. has anyone done this model and how did you find it?? with regards to quality of build instructions etc?
Current builds
HMS Victory
Endeavour longboat

The Hachette kit is based on the Amati 1/250 Titanic, if I recall rightly, there was a lot of moans about it having cardboard superstructure walls but the end result seems ok, and if the kit is a fraction of its original selling price, it’s probably worth taking on. You can find a full issue by issue build here: http://www.buildthetitanic.co.uk/modelframe.htm

Be wary not to pay more than what you can buy the Amati version for.

I’m currently building my 4th model using this partwork. I have replaced the cardboard wall sections with etched brass sections from Minibrass.com. Well worth the extra cost in the end.
