Nice work on those furled sails Nightwisher, very realistic in the way that they are folded and lashed to the yard. ThumpUp

It was pretty cool wasnt it.There is also some really neat video of Scots cabin in antarctica at cape Evans.Because of the low temp and humidity everything in the cabin has been preserved.

Nightwisher, you have done a spectacular job with this build and I have been following your diary with amazement. The quality of workmanship is stunning but the one area that I really love is the decking. Well done.

The furled sails look amazing! Very well done!

One question for all the experts here - when the sails are furled - do they also remove the blocks for the sheets (ans other running rigging) and the sheets themselves?
Greetings,
Walter

With furled sails the clue and bunt lines where used to pull up the the sails to help with furling and the jacks where tightened up to keep the yards in place so all the tackle was left in place. The tackle was only removed when in port when the sails where removed for maintenance.
Hope this helps
Martyn

Hi Walter and Martyn I'm glad you like the sails. I have seen pictures where the sails are furled the way I have done them and also where the corners are hanging down with the blocks and clue lines coming from them .

I guess it depended on how long the sails were meant to stay furled.

Thanks for the information!

Walter
