This one is going to be based on a genuine GT40 owned by a friend of mine.
I intend making the model as close to his car as possible which will mean a complete repaint at the very least.
I'll look at and compare other parts of the car as the build progresses.

I've attached a few pics of the genuine car I'll be replicating.

Thatโ€™s awesome! I wish I had a friend with a GT40Drool. That will be a cool color scheme to replicate.

I look forward to following your progress on this one

Gonna be some serious mods coming along then as the bodywork is completely different. Look forward to following your progress on this! Would love to see some more detailed shots, especially the interior and engine compartment ๐Ÿ˜

It's only really the front bonnet and vents plus a few details that are different...
Should be fun.

Looking forward to following the progression roy, I know your the master with the GT model and I'm very jealous you have a friend who owns a real one.

What model mark is that one and what year?

His car is a Mk 1 but I'm not sure of the year.
It's a genuine car - not a replica.

Royalmattblack; Any plans to do any upgrades, like the brake rotors? I'd like to get some machined for this model.

I'm waiting for my parts to arrive so I can assess what's practical.
