I'm after some info, I'm looking at building a dolls house for a friend of the family's daughter.

I was thinking of the normal 1/12 scale, so what's a good kit to buy that has everything inside so I/They don't need to buy more bits to start with.

I've seen the del prado kits on eBay, but are they worth it or is there something else that's better.

I don't won't to spend to much on the kit as its for a friend.

Any info appreciated. BigGrin

I built a couple years ago. I cant remember the brand, but they were pretty cheap.I ended up replacing some of the components.It was laser cut and some pieces were badly warped.I also ended up replacing some of the other materials (siding and roofing tiles) as they were pretty awful.

Here`s a link that may give guidance;

Dolls house direct sell on ebay (uk seller). Have picked out one of their kits similar to the one I built for my Granddaughter 5 years ago:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/i...1df5:g:VSsAAOSwel9egbTh

Check out there other items as there are lots to choose from.

I found it cheaper to purchase interior bits and pieces separately from a kit as you can get some good items at far cheaper prices if you scout around. If required lighting etc can be added as the child gets older and it gives other people the chance to add bits for Birthdays, Christmas etc.

Attached is a pic of how my effort turned out.

Hi Mustang!

You could have a look on the Hobbies website (alwayshobbies.com) and also on the Hobby's website too, they both have a huge range of dolls house kits and accessories, the smallest ones like the Southwold Corner Shop start at £49.95, the chalet-like Retreat is £59.95 and the 2 story Exmouth is £89.99 and the bigger ones go on up from there!Blink They also do sets of plans for the DIY'ers! (the fools!)BigGrin

Best of luck!
