Garth The dry brushing you have done on the accessories and canon looks really good. There is a lot of nice detail on some of thise parts and you have brought that out so well in your painting. Hope it all continues to go well. Kind regards Tony Happy Modelling

Hi Alan, Tony & Andy. Thank you for looking in and for the kind replies. Thanks again Tony, for your remarks on my painting - its really been a huge learning curve for me. I was unable to work in the garage this Saturday. Also had to look after our daughter. Just to keep things moving, I chose to assemble some of the smaller bits. I decided to solder the photo-etched, rather than super gluing them, mainly to practice soldering. Thanks again to Dennis (D51 Loco build for his superb tutorial on soldering photo-etched pieces – I’ve never looked back!!!) http://forum.us.model-sp...aspx?g=posts&t=7764
Kind regards, Garth Garth attached the following image(s): "Measure twice, cut once!!!" Finished!!! HMS Victory, Current build: Black Pearl. On hold: Bismarck, Golden Hind, Flying Scotsman, Victory Cross Section, SOTS, Tiger 1. Wish list: USS Constitution.

Hi All, Back in the garage again . Did some Jacks cabin. Neatened up the port façade that I made on Saturday. Once done I added trim around the perimeter. This in not shown in the instructions, but I think it neatens things up. After that, I wrapped up the outer layer of planking on the port and starboard sides. Kind regards, Garth Garth attached the following image(s): "Measure twice, cut once!!!" Finished!!! HMS Victory, Current build: Black Pearl. On hold: Bismarck, Golden Hind, Flying Scotsman, Victory Cross Section, SOTS, Tiger 1. Wish list: USS Constitution.

Hi Guys, Once again thank you for the encouraging replies. Just a small update today. Did some more work on Jack’s cabin. The section façade looks a bit thin on detail. Again, borrowing ideas from other build diaries, I made up a façade with split ends to match the remaining sections. Also, wrapped up the planking on the stern. Kind regards, Garth Garth attached the following image(s): "Measure twice, cut once!!!" Finished!!! HMS Victory, Current build: Black Pearl. On hold: Bismarck, Golden Hind, Flying Scotsman, Victory Cross Section, SOTS, Tiger 1. Wish list: USS Constitution.
