I can highly recommend a visit to Scampton.

A link to my visit way back in 2014 is below:

http://forum.model-space...spx?g=posts&t=13531

There are more places to visit in the area if you`re in the region for any length of time.

If you visit Scampton, Enjoy.BigGrin Just don`t forget the required ID or you won`t get in no matter how far you`ve travelled.Crying

Yorkshire Air Museum visit

I thought you fellow Plane buffs might be interested to see some of my photos taken at a recent visit to the Yorkshire Air Museum, which stands on the former RAF Elvington Air base just outside York.

http://yorkshireairmuseum.org/plan-your-visit/

Easy to find, and a bargain entry price of only £10 for adults, and £5 for children upto 15. Kids under 5 go free!

There is a mixture of indoor and outdoor exhibits, training simulators (not available when we went Cursing ), and a cinema room showing a film about the 'Bomber Boys' in bomber Command (well worth the watch).

A large canteen is central, serving hot and cold food, snacks and beverages (even beer BigGrin ), if a little limited regarding menu choices (there had been a conference there on the day we went. No biggie, just an observation).

I had hoped to be able to scamper all over their Victor display for a project later in the year, but unlike the Dakota exhibit, it was fenced off. You can happily board that exhibit and see just how spartan the interior was for the poor parachutists it carried.

anyway, here are some of my memories from the day. It is well worth a visit if you're in the area, and amazingly cheap for what you can see. Easily able to spend most of the day with the various exhibits Drool
