Issue 126 - Contains the Foresail, bamboo dowel and dummy gun barrels.

Take the main royal yard V10 and the sail SA4 -That you assembled in Issue 125 and attach them in front of the mainmast, just below the upper crosstree, as you did with yards V8 and V9.
Then prepare two halyards with dark brown 0.5mm thread and a 4mm two-hole block 212 and two collars each with 0.5mm thread on one side and 0.25mm thread on the other side of a 4mm one-hole block 209. (Following the measurements shown in the instructions).
Tie the 100mm-long thread to the eyebolt left free among those fixed on the quarterdeck in Issue 125. With the 0.25mm thread, connect the block 209 of the collar to the block 212 of a halyard. Tie off the thread to the cleat indicated. Then lead the dark brown thread of the first halyard upwards and secure it with a drop of glue on the cap. Then take the thread down and tie it to the yard V10.
In a similar fashion, fit the second halyard on the other side of the model.

Using 0.15mm thread, prepare the lifts of the yard V10. - These ropes are similar to the lifts of the other masts.
Tie the thread to the topmost of the two eyebolts fixed above the crosstree. First, pass it through the block 209 on the tip of the yard V10, and then through block 209 hanging from the same eyebolt. Then lead the thread down to the deck, tying it off on the first belay pin of the rack in front of the mainmast.
Fit the second lift on the other side of the yard.

Use 0.15mm thread to prepare the sheets of the mainmast royal sail SA4. - Tie the thread to the loop at one of the bottom corners of sail SA4, pass it through the block 212 on the tip of the yard V9 and then through a block 209 that you must fix to the shroud forward of it. Wrap the thread on one of the free belay pins on the bulwark of the deck.
Repeat on the opposite side of the sail SA4.

Now fit the sheets of sail SA4, to be made from 0.15mm light brown thread. - Start by knotting one end of the thread to the loop of one of the two lower corners of the sail SA4. Pass the thread through the block 209 attached to the yard V10. Then, tie a block 209 to the shroud forward of it and pass the thread through it, pulling it down. Tie off the thread on the free belay pin on the bulwark of the deck.
Fit the second sheet on the bottom corner of the sail SA4.

Make the braces of the yard V10, which should be made with 0.15mm thread. - Tie the thread to the eyebolt located on the cap of the upper crosstree of the mizzenmast. Pass the thread through the block 209 hanging on the end of the yard V10. Then lead the thread back to the mizzenmast and pass it through the block 209 attached to the eyebolt in Step 16. Tie off the thread on the free belay pin on the bulwark of the quarterdeck.
Now fit the second brace on the other end of yard V10.

Take yard V3, and the foresail SA5 that came with this issue. - Sew the sail on the mast, as shown in Steps 25 to 27 of Issue 124.
To assemble the parrel of the yard V3, paint the six deadeyes that came with Issue 122 a sapele colour. Then, paint the edges of the six pieces red. Finally, take 10 parrel trucks (that came with Issue 99) and two pieces of 0.25mm thread. Assemble the parrel by inserting the two threads into the holes of the deadeyes and parrel trucks. Then attach the yard in front of the foremast V3 using the parrel. The deadeyes and trucks of the parrel should be placed forward of the mast. The curved edge of the parrel trucks should be facing the stern of the model.

Prepare the halyards of the yard V3 - with two 0.5mm dark brown threads, a 0.25mm light brown thread and a 6mm two-hole block 213. Raise the yard up under the first foretop.

With a tie made with the 0.5mm thread of the halyards, connect the block 213 to the bitt on the deck behind the mast. Tie the end of the thread to the indicated cleat on the deck. Then lead the threads of the halyards upwards, passing them through the foretop and above the cap. Fix them with a drop of glue. Then lead the threads down, pass them back through the top and tie them in the middle of the yard V3.

With 0.25mm thread, make the lifts of the foremast yard V3 - Which are similar to those already fitted on the mainmast yard. Begin by tying one end of the thread to the forward eyebolt below the top. Pass the thread through the top hole of the fiddle block 159 at the tip of the yard V3. Then lead the thread back to the foremast and pass it through the block 209 attached to the eyebolt used in Step 32. Tie off the thread on the belay pin on the bulwark of the forecastle.
Repeat on the other side of the yard.

With 0.25mm thread, fit the sheets of the foresail SA5. - Tie the thread to the loop at one of the two lower corners of the sail. Pass the thread through the one-hole block 209 hanging from yard V3. Pass the thread through a 4mm one-hole block 209 that you must fix on the forwardmost shroud. Tie off the thread on the second belay pin on the bulwark of the forecastle.
Similarly, fit the second sheet to the other lower corner of the sail.

Prepare the sheets of the foresail SA5 with 0.25mm light brown thread. - These two ropes, unlike the others, must remain slack.
Start by fixing an eyebolt on the side just above the sea horse to the upper left of the access door of the model, then tie the 0.25mm thread to the eyebolt.
Now fix a 4mm 43 one-hole block 209 to the loop of one of the two lower corners of the sail SA5. Pass the thread of the sheet through it. Then tie the thread to an eyebolt that you must fix on the hull, just above the sea horse to the top right of the access door. At the end also fit the other sheet of the sail.

Fitting the braces of the yard V3 - Using 0.25mm thread, Tie the thread to the mainstay (which goes from the first mainmast top to the foot of the foremast). Pass the thread through the block 209 hanging at the end of the yard V3.
Tie a block 209 on the mainstay, below the point at which you previously fixed the thread. Then, pass the thread of the brace through the block. Wrap the thread around the fourth belay pin (counting from the left) of the rack on the railing of the forecastle.
In similar fashion, fit the second brace on the other side of the yard.

This completes this lengthy session, carefully store the remaining parts.

Issue 127 - Contains the Foremast topsail, dummy gun barrels and diecast decorations for the right-hand side of the hull.

Take the foretop sail SA6 that came with this issue and the yard V4 prepared earlier. - Fix the sail to the yard, as described in Steps 25 to 27 of Issue 124. Then fit yard V4 (and its sail) in front of the foremast, placing it below the second top. The yard must be joined to the shaft by a binding made with 0.25mm thread. The binding is the same as the one that you have used on the upper yards of the mainmast.

Prepare the two halyards of yard V4 - Using 0.5mm dark brown thread and a 4mm two-hole block 212. Then make the two collars with a 0.5mm thread, 0.25mm light brown thread and a 4mm one-hole block 209.
Follow the measurements shown in Step 4.
Tie the thread of a collar to the eyebolt on the deck near the second grating. Then connect block 209 of the collar to block 212 of a halyard with the 0.15mm thread. Tie off the thread on the nearest cleat, then lead the brown thread of the halyard upwards, pass it through the second foretop and fix it with a drop of glue on the cap. Then, repass the thread through the top and tie it to the yard V4. Fit the second halyard of the yard on the other side of your model in the same way as the first.

Now you can set up all the other rigging related to the yard and foretop sail V4 - Starting with the sheets. Use 0.25mm thread for the job.
Tie the thread to the eyebolt fixed forward below the second top and pass it through the block 212 on the tip of the yard V4 and through the block 209 hanging from the eyebolt. Tie off the thread on a belay pin on the edge of the forecastle bulwark at the shrouds. Check the step 10 photo to identify the correct belay pin on which to secure the sheet.
Repeat on the other side of the yard.

Using 0.25mm thread, you can prepare the sheets of the foremast topsail SA6. - Tie the thread to the loop of one of the two bottom corners of the sail SA6 and pass it through the free hole in the fiddle block 159 on the end of the yard V3.
With 0.25mm thread, fix a block 209 forward of the shroud, then, pass the thread of the sheet through the block, and tie the thread to one of the belay pins on the edge of the forward parapet of the forecastle, as indicated in the Step 15 photo.
Similarly, fit the sheet of the other lower corner of the sail.

Now it is the turn of the sheets of the foremast topsail SA6, to be made using 0.25mm thread. - Start by tying one end of the thread to the loop at one of the two lower corners of the sail SA6. Pass the thread through the one-hole block 209 attached to the yard V4. Pass the thread through a block 209, which you must first strop, on the shroud. Then tie off the thread on the free belay pin on the bulwark of the forecastle at the shrouds.
Fit the second sheet on the other side of the sail.

At this point, you can fit the braces of the yard V4, to be made using 0.25mm thread. - Tie, and secure with a drop of glue, one end of the thread to the top stay, which goes from the second maintop to the first foretop. Pass the thread through the block (209) hanging on the tip of the yard V4.
Now tie a block 209 to the top stay, placing it below the point where you previously fastened the thread. Then pass the thread of the brace through the block and tie the thread to the third belay pin (from the left) of the rack on the parapet of the forecastle.
In a similar manner, fit the second brace on the other side of the yard.

Decorations - Take the pieces PD21, PD10, PD15 and PD6 that came with this issue and, after going removing any burrs, coat them with metal primer, then paint them gold. Then retouch PD21 with red paint.

The eight decorations are glued on the second quarter gallery of the right-hand side of the hull. Glue each of the pieces in position in the locations shown.

Dummy guns - Remove any burrs from the six dummy guns provided with this issue and also the 12 dummy guns supplied in previous issues. Prime and paint them as before and also add the dowel spigot rods as before.
Use a 2mm drill bit to make central holes in the nine indicated gun ports on the right-hand side of the model where you have to fix the nine dummy guns.
With the help of the Step 31 photo, identify on the right-hand side of the model the areas of the upper and lower gun decks where the dummy guns are to be positioned.
Following Steps 8 to 10 of Issue 99, fix a dummy gun into each of the five gun ports shown in Step 32, then fix a dummy gun into each of the four gun ports of the forward area of the hull.

The remaining 9 dummy guns will be fixed in the next issue onto the left-hand side of the model, carefully store them until then.

This completes this session.

Future issues:

Issue 128 - Contains the Mainmast royal sail, Foremast royal sail and diecast left-hand side hull decorations.

Take the mainmast royal sail SA7 that came with this issue and the yard V5 prepared earlier. - Fix the sail to the yard, as described in Steps 25 to 27 of Issue 124.
Then fit the yard V5 (and the sail SA7) in front of the foremast, just below the upper top. To fix it, make the same tie made with 0.25mm thread that you used with the top yards of the mainmast.

Prepare the two halyards of the yard V5, - Using 0.5mm dark brown thread and a 4mm two-hole block 212. Then, make two collars with the 0.5mm thread, 0.25mm thread and a one-hole 4mm block 209. Follow the measurements shown in the instructions.
Tie 100mm of 0.5mm dark brown thread to the eyebolt on the deck near the gratings. Connect block 209 of the collar to block 212 of a halyard with the 0.25mm thread. Tie the thread to an eyebolt to be attached to the deck. Bring the thread of the halyard upwards, pass it through the foremast top and fix it with a drop of glue on the cap. Pass the thread through the top, and then tie it to the yard V5.
The second halyard of the yard is to be fitted on the other side of the model in the same way as the first.

Using 0.15mm thread, make the lifts of the mainmast royal yard V5. - The path of the rope is the same as the lifts you fitted on the foremast top yard.
Tie the thread to the eyebolt fastened forward of the upper top, pass it through the block 212 on the tip of the yard V5, and then pass it through the block 209 attached to the eyebolt. Wrap the thread around the belay pin that you must place on the bulwark of the forecastle, then fix a second belay pin beside the first.
Repeat for the other side of the yard.

Now fit the sheets of the mainmast royal sail SA7, using 0.15mm thread. - Tie the thread to the loop of one of the bottom corners of the sail SA7 and pass it through the block 212 at the end of the yard V4. Pass the thread through a block 209 that you must attach to the forwardmost topgallant shroud. Tie the thread around the belay pin that is on the forward bulwark of the forecastle.
Now fit the other sheet on the opposite side of the sail.

Install the sheets of the mainmast royal sail SA7, using 0.15mm thread. - Tie one end of 18 the thread to the loop at one of the bottom corners of the sail SA7. Pass the thread through the one-hole block 209 attached to the yard V5. Then through a block 209 that you must attach to the forwardmost shroud, just under the yard. Tie off the thread on the second belay pin that you fixed on the forecastle bulwark in Step 9.
Similarly, fit the other sheet of the sail.

Make the braces of the yard V5, which are again made with 0.15mm thread. - Fix the thread to the topgallant stay, the rope that runs from the upper maintop to the midtop of the foremast. Secure it with a drop of glue, then pass the thread through the block 209 hanging at one end of the yard V5.
Tie block 209 to the topgallant stay, below the point at which you previously fixed the thread. Then, pass the thread of the brace through the block. Tie the thread to the second belay pin (counting from the left) of the rack on the rear bulwark of the forecastle.
In similar fashion, fit the second brace on the other side of the yard.

Fix four eyebolts on the deck. - in the location and positions shown in the Step 23/24 photos.

Take the foremast royal sail SA8 that came with this issue and the yard V6 prepared in a previous issue. - Fix the sail to the yard as you did earlier.
With a tie made with 0.25mm thread, attach the yard V6 (and sail SA8) in front of the foremast, just below the upper crosstree.

Make the two halyards of the yard V6. - With 0.5mm brown thread and a 4mm two-hole block 212. Make two collars with 0.5mm brown thread, 0.25mm thread and a one-hole 4mm block 209. Follow the measurements shown in the instructions.
Knot 100mm of 0.25mm thread to an eyebolt on the deck. With the 0.25mm thread, connect the block 209 of the collar to the block 212 of a halyard, then tie the thread to the other eyebolt on the deck. Bring the thread of the halyard upward and secure it with a drop of glue on the cap. Bring the thread back down and tie it to the yard V6.
Similarly, fit the second halyard on the other side of the model.

With 0.15mm thread, you can now prepare the lifts of the yard V6. - These ropes are the same as the lifts of the yard V5 that you attached previously.
Tie the thread to the upper of the two eyebolts fixed on the crosstree and pass it through the block 209 on the tip of the yard V6. Bring the thread back towards the mast, and pass it through the block 209 hanging from the same eyebolt. Fix the thread to the most forward belay pin on the forecastle bulwark.
Repeat on the other side of the yard.

With 0.15mm thread, make the sheets of the foremast royal sail SA8. - Tie the thread to the loop in a bottom corner of the sail SA8 and pass it through the block 212 on the tip of the yard V5. Fix a block 209 on the forward shroud, as shown in the Step 36 photo. Then, pass the thread through the block. Attach the thread to the outermost belay pin on the forward bulwark of the forecastle.
Now tie the second sheet on the other bottom corner of the sail.

Now fit the sheets of sail SA8, to be made from 0.15mm thread. - Tie the thread to the loop of one of the two lower corners of sail SA8, then pass it through block 209 fixed to the yard V6. Fix a block 209 to the forward shroud and pass the thread through it, then wrap the thread around the unused belay pin on the forecastle bulwark.
Fit the second sheet of the sail by the same method.

To complete the rigging of the yard V6 and sail SA8, - You must make the braces, using 0.15mm thread. Tie the thread to the foremast topgallant stay, which runs from the main crosstree to the upper foretop. Secure it with a drop of glue, then pass the thread through the block 209, hanging at the end of the yard V6.
Tie a block 209 on the topgallant stay, below the point where, in Step 44, you tied the thread. Then, pass the thread of the brace through the block. Tie off the thread on the first belay pin (counting from the left) in the rack on the rear bulwark of the forecastle.
Repeat to fit the second brace on the other side of the yard V6.

Decorations. - Take the decorations PD12, PD6, PD15 and PD21 that came with this issue, remove any burrs then coat them with metal primer and paint them gold. Then, retouch decoration PD21 with red paint.
Glue the eight decorations on the second quarter gallery of the left-hand side of the hull in the locations indicated.

Dummy guns. - Install the nine dummy guns that you prepared in previous assembly session. Locate the areas on the upper and lower gun decks on the left-hand side of the model. Then, following Steps 8 to 10 of Issue 99, fit four dummy guns in the gun ports shown in the Step 52 photo. Similarly, fit the remaining five dummy guns into the gun ports in the central area of the hull of the model shown in Step 53.

This completes this session.

Issue 129 - Contains the Bowsprit topgallant sail, Spritsail, diecast decorations of the spur, balusters of the quarter galleries and belay pins.

Take the spritsail SA9 that came with this issue and the yard V1 prepared in a previous issue. - Fit the sail to the yard as described in Steps 25 to 27 of Issue 124.
Mount the yard V1 and its sail under the bowsprit mast. by making two halyards with 0.25mm thread, as shown in the Step 2 photo. Tie one end of the thread around the yard V1 and pass it through the one-hole 4mm block 209 hanging from one of the lateral eyebolts of the bowsprit. Fix the thread to the first cleat (starting from the bow) on the edge of the grating of the spur.
Then fit the second halyard on the other side of the ship.

To move the spritsail yard V1 along the bowsprit, - You need to prepare another rope, called the top tackle. Using 0.25mm thread, knot one end of the thread around the yard V1 and pass it through the block 209 beneath the bowsprit top. Lead the thread forward, pass it through the block 209 on the bowsprit between the two wooldings. Wrap the thread around the second cleat (counting from the bow) on the edge of the spur. Similarly, make a second top tackle on the other side of the spritsail yard V1.

Use 0.25mm thread to make the spritsail yard the lifts. - Tie the thread to the eyebolt under the back of the bowsprit top. Pass the thread of the lift through the 4mm two-hole block 212 at the end of the yard V1. Lead the thread to the bowsprit, then pass it through the block 209 fixed to the eyebolt in Step 10. Stretch the thread along the bowsprit and pass it through the block 209 on the mast in front of the figurine of the lion. Fix the thread on the fourth cleat (counting from the bow) on the edge of the spur.
Repeat on the other side of the bowsprit.

Use 0.25mm thread to fit the sheet ropes of the spritsail SA9. - Tie one end of the thread to the loop of one of the two lower corners of the sail SA9., then pass the thread through the one-hole block 209 attached to the spritsail yard.
With 0.25mm thread, fix a block 209 to the eyebolt used in Step 3. Pass the thread of the sheet through the block., lead the thread along the bowsprit and pass it through a block 209 to be tied to the eyebolt between the wooldings and tie the thread to the free cleat on the edge of the spur.
Similarly, fit a sheet rope onto the opposite corner of the spitsail.

Use 0.25mm thread to prepare the braces of the spritsail yard (V1). - Fix one end of the thread to the stay of the foremast that runs from the first foretop to the bowsprit and secure it with a drop of glue, the pass the thread through the block 209 hanging at one end of yard V1.
Tie a block 209 to the stay of the foremast under the point where you previously fixed the thread. Then pass the thread of the brace through the block. Tie off the thread on the first belay pin (counting from the bow) of the rack on the parapet of the spur.
Repeat to fit the second brace of the V1 yard.

To complete the rigging of the V1 yard and spritsail, - You just have to fit additional sheet ropes, in this case, the two 0.25mm threads must remain slack. - Tie the thread to a belay pin to be fixed on the forward bulwark of the forecastle. Then fix a second belay pin beside the first. Tie a block 209 to the loop of a lower corner of the sail SA9 and pass the thread of the sheet through it. Wrap the thread around the second belay pin fixed in Step 27.
Similarly, fit the additional sheet rope of the other corner of the spritsail.

Take the bowsprit topgallant sail (SA10) that came with this issue and the yard V2 prepared in a previous issue. - Fix the sail to the yard by the method used for the sails and yards of the other masts.
With a tie made with 0.25mm thread, fix the yard V2 (and its sail SA10) in front of the bowsprit topgallant mast, placing it just below the crosstree.
The first rigging ropes to be fitted on the yard of the bowsprit topgallant yard V2 are the two lifts. To make them, use two pieces of 0.15mm thread. Tie the thread to the lateral eyebolt of the upper cap and pass it first through block 209 at the end of the yard V2 and then through the one hung beneath the lower cap. Lead the thread down, and pass it through the block 209 fixed to the eyebolt on the platform of the top. Stretch the thread along the bowsprit, passing it through the top. Pass the thread of the lift through the eyebolt of the bowsprit, as shown in the Step 35 photo. Tie off the thread on the second belay pin (counting from the bow) of the rack on the parapet of the spur.
Repeat to fit the second lift of the V2 yard.

Now fit the braces of the bowsprit topgallant yard V2. - Use two pieces of 0.15mm thread. Tie a thread to the topgallant stay, that is to the rope which runs from the second foremast top to the bowsprit top and secure it with a drop of glue. Lead the thread towards the yard V2 and pass it through the block 209 at one end of the yard itself. Pass the thread of the brace through a block 209 to be tied to the topgallant stay, below the point where you previously fixed the end of the thread. Tie off the thread on the third belay pin (counting from the bow) of the rack on the parapet of the spur.
Repeat to fit the second brace on the other end of the V2 yard.

Use 0.15mm thread to make the sheet ropes of the bowsprit topgallant sail SA10.- Tie the thread to the loop of one of the bottom corners of the sail SA10. Pass the thread through the block 209 hanging from the yard V2, then pass it through a second block 209 fixed under the cap. Bring down the sheet toward the top, and pass it through a block 209 fixed to the cap at the foot of the topmast. Stretch the thread along the bowsprit, passing it through the top. The thread is then tied off around a belay pin that you need to fix on the forward bulwark of the forecastle.
Repeat to fit a sheet rope onto the other corner of the topgallant sail.

Now complete the rigging of the V1 yard and topgallant sail by fitting additional sheet ropes. - Use two pieces of 0.15mm thread. Tie a thread to the loop of one of the two bottom corners of the sail SA10 and pass it through the block 212 on the end of the yard V1. Pass the thread through a block 209 that you have to fix to the eyebolt on the bowsprit above the yard V1. Pass the thread of the sheet through the block 209 on the bowsprit near the collar of the foremast stay. Tie off the thread on the fourth belay pin (counting from the bow) of the rack on the parapet of the spur.
Similarly, fit the second sheet rope onto the other corner of sail SA10.

Decorations - Take decorations PD61, PD62, PD63 & PD35 and PL12, PL1, PL6 and PL7 that came with this issue, remove any burrs then coat then with metal primer and paint them gold. Then retouch PD61, PD62. PD63 and PD35 as shown with white, black and red paint.

Glue decorations PD61, PD62, PD63 and PD35 onto the left-hand side of the bow spur, fixing them in the locations shown in the Step 55 photo.

Glue the balusters PL1 and PL6 on the front edge of the first and second stern quarter gallery of the left-hand side of the ship, and glue the balusters PL7 and PL12 on the front edge of the first and second stern quarter gallery of the right-hand side of the ship, symmetrical with the first two.

This completes this lengthy session.
