Cool wheels, they look like the BBS split rim racing wheels used on the Ford Capri touring cars in the late 70's Welcome and good luck with your build, (wish I was brave enough to modify mine....)

Yesterday first delivery is arrived! The quality of kit is really good like the packaging. After checked the parts, i started with the wheels. There's a size problem. The original mustang complete wheels are 3,3 inches (8,4 cm). The "BBS" wheels are 2,54 inches (6,4 cm) The diameter of the rims are the same. I think is a problem fit this rims with excessive clearence between wheel arc and wheel. I solve the size problem using the tires of original wheels of my golf 1/8. The size is quite right. When I'll drop the chassis, i hope the whole effect will be good. In the week end i start to paint some bits. frah2o attached the following image(s): Collection active: Lamborghini Countach 1/8; Porsche RS 1/8; Jaguar E-type 1/8, Ferrari 312T4 1/8; Ferrari F40Competizione 1/8; Subaru WRC 2003 1/8, Dodge Charger F&F 1/8

Nice wheels but the small size would worry me. Hopefully it won't look like your car is riding on cotton reels (as we say in the UK) Also bear in mind if the car was real it would be a lot slower for the same engine revs and flat out, it would be slower than a standard car.
Looking nice though and it will be good to see a build that's different.

Roy. Hi Roy. My project is to try a build a low rider with an immaginary airride suspension (in the future i can try to self made the air tank and compressor to fit inside the trunk. For the wheels size i'll check the correct size when i'll get the full chassis. Now is really hard understand if the fit will be good. I have a problem. i would changes the wheel but without reworking original part. To fit my new wheels I'll make an adptor between sterring knuckle and wheels. My touble is that the screw 2.3x3mm that must be used is too short. The right lenght for my mod is 2.3x6mm. I would ask you is 2,3 is metric, and where i can find this size of screws. It'not important if is head screw or bolt screw. Thank you in advance. and thank to Stevie_o for use his image. frah2o attached the following image(s): Collection active: Lamborghini Countach 1/8; Porsche RS 1/8; Jaguar E-type 1/8, Ferrari 312T4 1/8; Ferrari F40Competizione 1/8; Subaru WRC 2003 1/8, Dodge Charger F&F 1/8

While i'm searching a spare screw, i start to work on hood and front nose. With Maurizio'67 advice, I sanded with wet 1200 paper. In the week I'll coat with Tamiya grey primer, another sand with wet 2000 and finally the black matt coat. I'm still deciding for the new color stripes. I'm thinking to use the Tamiya TS36 (The Malboro's red) frah2o attached the following image(s): Collection active: Lamborghini Countach 1/8; Porsche RS 1/8; Jaguar E-type 1/8, Ferrari 312T4 1/8; Ferrari F40Competizione 1/8; Subaru WRC 2003 1/8, Dodge Charger F&F 1/8

The front nose and the bonnet are with new skin. I like it very much, more agressive look. I also painted in black the 2 front grill. I opened the headlight and painted in black the frame Finally i assembly teh front end. I think to leave as showed. Withot front bumper is better for me when i'll drop it. I'll open the hole of fog light to create a duct for vent fornt disc brake frah2o attached the following image(s): Collection active: Lamborghini Countach 1/8; Porsche RS 1/8; Jaguar E-type 1/8, Ferrari 312T4 1/8; Ferrari F40Competizione 1/8; Subaru WRC 2003 1/8, Dodge Charger F&F 1/8

Last week i received the second issue. I had one mounth to decided the engne combination. So i continued with my custom build. First i modified the front bumber. I made from original two perimetral sprayed in gloss black. Now the front is a little bit deep and more agressive for me. Second step was the engine color. I saw many crankcase painted in blue, but i found a pics of a customized black gt 500 in black with airride supension with red crankcase Also changing main color, I detailed some head nut bolt and sprayed in gold the holley's carb. I'm quit satisfied about the final result. I'm just thinking to change the air filter color in red to simulate a K&N filter. Next step will be harder for color combination for the trim....just deciding about it. frah2o attached the following image(s): Collection active: Lamborghini Countach 1/8; Porsche RS 1/8; Jaguar E-type 1/8, Ferrari 312T4 1/8; Ferrari F40Competizione 1/8; Subaru WRC 2003 1/8, Dodge Charger F&F 1/8

Very nice painting you've done there. Should look great when the car is all together. Graham I was drowning my sorrows. But my sorrows they'd learned to swim.

Truly stunning bumper. You've done a great job on the paint as it can be hard to get a uniform finish. Chris On the bench 1/350 Revell Tirpitz Platinum Edition (Pontos PE and Wooden deck) plus extra Eduard PE set and extra MK1 door sets.

Thanks to much for comments mates. My wish is to fit a front splitter. I hope in shapeways site, if it'll not produced, I'll try to made one by myself. But this it'll be a long project. I'll try to made one when I'll received the full body.
