2018 is the 70th anniversary of the Silverstone circuit, which first hosted racing in October 1948 when Luigi Villoresi won the Royal Automobile Club International Grand Prix.
In celebration, this year's British Grand Prix weekend will feature two support races of historic F1 cars from the 1966 to 1985 year span. A grid of around 30 cars will be assembled from entrants from the FIA-badged European series and the corresponding series run by Masters in North America. The majority of the field will run with Cosworth DFV power, more than 50 years on from the introduction of the Northampton-built engine, while one or two V12-engined cars could also be entered.

The historic F1 model kit competition is open to all ModelSpace regions, to construct the 1966-1985 Historic F1 car of your choice - any scale, static display or radio-controlled.
The competition start date is the F1 season start (25th March) and will end on the day after the last race of the 2018 F1 season (26th Nov). All entries must be finished within the timeframe to qualify as a finalist.
You can announce your intended F1 Historic build from the 24th March onwards.
We are hoping to have Stuart Pringle, (Silverstone MD) to choose the winning Historic build from the list of finalists. Should this not be feasible, the winning build will be voted by ModelSpace members.Historic F1 car competition Rules
Build your favourite favourite Historic F1 car 1966-1985
Your build diary should be of any F1 car from the 1966-1985 year span. Any scale, Static display or Radio-Controlled.
You can announce your Entry on the 24th March. Its build start should not be before the 25th March 2018.
Your entry should be complete and it be posted into the finished build gallery no later than the 26th Nov 2018.
1. All builds must have a build diary posted exclusively on ModelSpace, (or associated MS forum such as ModelSpace Germany). Build Entries must not be shared elsewhere during or after the competition end., Failure to observe this rule will result in the entry being void and the member excluded from the competition.
2. Strictly one Entry per person/member. An existing or previous F1 build cannot be submitted as an entry. All entrants should be contributors around the forum rather than just within their own build.
3. Your entry must be nominated as "Historic F1 Build Entry" within the text content of your first post (not in the post title). No build nomination = void entry!
4. All entries should be posted into the relevant build diary sections of the UK forum. Once you announce your build is complete, it should be posted into the Finished Builds Gallery.
5. If you choose to enter, you are obliged to vote for one of the entries (not your own).
6. Soliciting of members to vote for an entry will not be tolerated. The post will be removed and you will lose your chance to vote. Entrants should refrain from soliciting the forum for which historic F1 model to build.
7. You can add your F1 model into a diorama display is you wish - Each element of the display must be within the same build topic.
8. Once your build has been started, the subject cannot then be changed.
9. Stuart Pringle, (Silverstone MD) will choose the winning build or we will have a member vote to chose the winner. In the event of a tie, Admin will choose the winner.
10. This competition is open to all ModelSpace regions.
The winner will be announced on the 1st Dec 2018.
The Prize - A model kit of your choice up to a value £150 (or equivalent currency value of your country).
Feel free to announce your entry on or after the 24th March and send a PM to me to have your entry added to the competition entry list copied below:

Waiting delivery. Should be Monday but not holding my breath the way the weather is. Then got to source some paint. Biggest issue is I don`t know the first thing about F1 cars so it`ll be mostly as it comes type of build, but always up for a challenge. 21 days and counting.
