Issue 100 contains the Mains adaptor/Charger.

Please note of the initial sequence noted below (also noted in the instructions).

Plug the mains adaptor lead into R2-D2.

Plug the adaptor into the mains and turn it on. Leave it for a couple of seconds, then turn off and unplug both ends.

This is a protection procedure to activate the battery, and without doing this, R2-D2 won’t turn on. You do not need to repeat this process, and in future the adaptor is only used to recharge the batteries.

If R2-D2 is turned on, his front the red/blue status light will change colour and flashing sequence to indicate the charge level, (further info is noted in the online User Guide).

Then, once your familiar familiar with how to control R2-D2, then press the bottom button (Power On/off) on his front panel. He will jerk forward about 2cm to calibrate his motors, rotate his head in both directions, make a noise and illuminate status displays to indicate that he is ready for action!

When the level drops below 20%, R2's front status display will turn red.

When he is fully charged, his front status display will turn blue

The app displays R2-D2’s battery level continually, either graphically, or as a number.

Hi.

So, we can’t have R2 powered up on static display without batteries fitted? The charger is just that, a charger?

I know we should be able to run R2 whilst charging the batteries but didn’t realise it definitely required batteries fitted to function

Thanks
