BigGrin Hi all

The answer-

When the churchills were sent to aid in the North Africa Campaign they discovered much to the drivers chagrin that the two horns that carried the tracks acted as a wind tunnel that litterally sucked all the dust and sand kicked up by forward travel into the drivers face and blinded him.

The apron and skirt was attached between the horns to stop the self induced dust storm so the driver could see again.

Only used in North Africa and not fitted to the D-Day Churchill tanks so I wont be using it on my build but Thought it would make a point of interest as I had not seen the skirts before I bought this resin set.

See below picture.

Looks a very nice upgrade set there Andy and interesting to find out about that frontal skirt. Shame not to have the need to use it on this build but would look great on a future 'desert' build maybe?

Looking forward to your build. Cool ThumpUp
