First up I need to remove the axle as it was fitted the wrong way round.

So I managed to prise them apart with out damage.

Then cleaned and refitted the correct way round.

Next I need to make a new Gun elevator pin, I could have just added a piece of brass rod.

But I decided to add the screw detail to it.

I also left a small piece of rod at the end where it will meet the barrel housing.

The rear of the barrel chamber was missing a small detail, so I added a small piece of plastic.

Then added two more for support.

The others will be added once its all painted.

Final part of the build is the wheels, this is the jig to build them. Took me awhile to remove all the crap around the outside just so I could get the rims to fit.

Hubs and spokes.

Fitting the parts.

There was small holes in the rims for where the spokes went, I gentle drilled these a bit bigger so the spokes would fit in them.

Looks a fabulous little kit Ian and at a great price too, even with the odd missing part. Excellent work so far, love those wheels and some nice scratchbuilding from you too with the screw fitting and barrels.

Very well done, will be watching and commenting on this build along the way. Cool ThumpUp

You got yourself a bargain there. As you say some of the rare verlinden items are fetching a hefty price tag. Bern picking up some bits and pieces in their "North and South" civil war range but proably 9 out of 10 "i would like" end up way out of my price bracket.

That wheel jig they supplied in the kit is a neat idea to give a good finish to the wheel spoke layout.

Looks like its all coming together very well and hope it contiunes in the same way for you.

Tony
Happy Modelling
