Getting near the end now...

STAGE 84

This pack contains the other parts to build the fuel tank. It all goes together very easily but as with the previous tank parts, it will benefit from a spray coat of satin black to lose the plastic look.
The fuel tank is then fitted into the luggage bay section.

STAGE 85

The battery box and car horns are supplied here and are a very straight-forward assembly.
Take care not to break the protruding horns once fitted.

STAGE 86

The electronics and wiring for the lights and horn sounds etc are included in this pack.
All of the components go in place quite easily but take care that all of the labelled plugs are connected correctly to their respective sockets on the circuit board.

STAGE 87

The wash-bottle reservoir and under dash blanking plate are supplied here.
When assembling the wash bottle, it will be greatly improved if the parts are glued together and the joint seam sanded off.
The bottle can then be repainted matt white before fitting.

STAGE 88

This pack contains the hinges for mounting the bonnet (hood) to the main body.
Take care when attaching the small springs - they are a slightly fiddly fit and may well result in being swallowed by the carpet monster.

The bonnet panel can now be fitted to the main body. Make sure the four fixing screws are fully tightened to prevent the panel from being a loose fit.

The dashboard is now fitted inside the car.
Be very careful not to trap any wires in the wrong place behind the dash section.

STAGE 89

The steering wheel and column parts are supplied in this pack.
The parts are easy to assemble and fit but care needs to be taken with the delicate switch stalks on either side of the column shroud just behind the steering wheel.

The front luggage panel is now fixed into place from underneath the main body.
This has to be done before fitting the steering column in place.

STAGE 90 & 91

The spare wheel is assembled from the parts supplied in these two packs.
The rear seat belts are now also mounted to the lower fixing points inside the body.
It is advisable to tape the doors, engine cover and bonnet closed when working with the body upside down. This is to prevent any of these parts accidentally swinging open and possibly breaking the hinges.

STAGE 92

The luggage space carpets are provided in this pack.
They can be put in place after the body and chassis are joined together.

Take great care that the wires running underneath the door sill running boards are correctly located, particularly near the rear wheels.
If these wires are out of place, the body and chassis will not mate together properly.
